Water filtration
Water filtration & softeners
A lot of homes around Lakeville, Rochester, and Freetown draw from private wells, and the water that comes up carries whatever the ground has to offer — iron that stains every fixture rust-orange, manganese that turns laundry gray, hardness that can cause scale buildup in fixtures and equipment.
Town-water houses are not exempt either; hardness and chlorine taste are common complaints. Either way, the answer starts with a test. Treatment sized to an actual water analysis works; treatment sold off a shelf frequently does not.

FAQs
Water quality questions, answered.
Still unsure? Ask us directly — no obligation.
Do I need a test if I can already see the problem?
Yes. Orange staining could be iron, could be manganese, could be bacterial. Each needs different treatment, and a softener installed against the wrong problem is an expensive way to change nothing.
Is a softener the same thing as a filter?
No. A softener removes hardness minerals through ion exchange. Filtration removes particulates, iron, or chemicals depending on the media. Many houses here need both, in a specific order — which is what the sizing step determines.
Will treatment help my water heater last longer?
Hard water scales heating surfaces and shortens equipment life, so treating it does help. That is one reason we look at water quality when a water heater has failed unusually early.
How much maintenance is involved?
Softeners need salt. Filters need media or cartridge changes on a schedule that depends on your water and your usage. We tell you the realistic interval for your system and can handle the service.
Can you help with well pump problems too?
Yes — pumps, pressure tanks, and treatment are all part of the same system, and we work on all three rather than treating them as separate specialties.
